Abstract

The interior planning organization in office buildings varies depending on the depth of the space and the plan layout. The thermal comfort of the space and the comfort conditions of the individuals are affected by different depth of the space. The aims of this parametric study are to examine the effects of the interior organization, window sizes, and the selection of building envelope elements on the design efficiency and the percentage of comfortable space in the buildings designed climate-conscious. In this study, the analysis is carried out for the offices located on the 3rd floor of the five-storey reference virtual building sensitive to climate. Calculations are made for a reference province in a hot-mild climate using Rhinoceros/Grasshopper simulation. Thermal comfort results in medium-depth office spaces and open-plan work areas will be given and evaluated comparatively for December 21 and June 21. Handling the interior planning organization and analysis process together at the design stage of the building will contribute to the development of thermally comfortable spaces.
